PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically recognize a 'toilet' with high accuracy, which partially constitutes the plan of a house from image data that reads the image of a construction drawing. ;SOLUTION: A toilet recognizing part 13 limits an image area consisting of black and white dots of image data, which is read from the image of a construction drawing by an image reading part 2 to a rectangular area, a dot number count array data creating part 6 horizontally and vertically counts black and white dots of counter parts of the image data within the limited rectangular area, separately cretes the dot number count array data and recognizes the contour of a toilet room that has toilet facilities in the construction drawing by further limiting the rectangular area with the size in terms of a scale based on the entire dot number count array data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
