PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honing condition detecting method, by which the work condition detecting position to a bore of an article to be bored can be found and moreover the temperature of both honing tool and the article to be bored can be detected, and to provide a honing machine, a honing tool, and a master ring, which are used for this method. ;SOLUTION: After the honing work to a bore WH of an article W to be bored by a honing tool 11, the air is gushed out from a sizing nozzle 21, which is installed in the honing tool 11, toward the inner circumferential surface of the bore WH in order to detect the back pressure, thereby measuring the diameter of the bore WH. In this case, by detecting both a position of the honing tool 11 in the axial direction of the bore WH and the position of the angle of rotation of the honing tool 11 to the bore WH, the work condition of the honing work can be detected, and at the same time the temperature of both honing tool 11 and a master ring can be measured by using a temperature sensor 35 attached to each of the two.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
