PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly switch the sensitivity of a microwave detector and also miniaturize the detector by judging whether high speed traveling or low speed traveling is judged on the basis of the output of an independent sensor, and switching the sensitivity to low sensitivity in low speed traveling to high speed when high speed traveling is switched, and to super-high sensitivity when it is continued for a fixed time. SOLUTION: A traveling state detecting device 10 discriminates whether high speed traveling is performed or not on the basis of the vibration of a vehicle detected by use of a vibration sensor. A control part 12 determines the detecting sensitivity on the basis of the information outputted from a traveling state detecting part 10 and a timer 11 and controls so as to have the detected sensitivity. A damping quantity regulating part 6 forms a sensitivity regulating means. In low speed traveling, low sensitivity is set to make it difficult to detect microwaves so that the wrong detecting is prevented. In high speed traveling, high sensitivity is set. Further, when the high speed traveling is continued for a fixed time, super-high sensitivity is set, whereby a microwave oscillator in a far position can be early and surely detected. The sensor can be also simplified to attain the miniaturization.
