PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out labor-saving control of rice insect pest in paddy fields over a long period without lowering rooting and germinating rate of seed rice by attaching solid particles, etc., comprising a component, etc., having rice insect pest control activity with systemic action to seed rice and directly sowing the seed rice to paddy fields. ;SOLUTION: Solid particles (preferably having 0.1-2mm particle diameter) comprising a rice disease insect pest control-active component having systemic action, e.g. flutolanil, a binder such as polyvinyl alcohol and a solid carrier such as clay or the mixture of the solid particles with a solid carrier is attached to seed rice and the solid particles-attached seed rice is directly sown to carry out control of rice insect pest in paddy fields. Furthermore, sustained release solid particles in which elution of the rice insect pest control-active component is controlled are preferably used as the solid particles.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
