PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain discoloration and decoloration of a silver image due to ultraviolet rays by developing the silver halide black-and-white printing paper having a high-boiling solvent in a photographic layer on an opaque support with a developing solution having a pH in a specified range. ;SOLUTION: The photographic printing plate contains at least one kind of high-boiling organic solvent in the photographic layer on the opaque support is processed with the developing solution in a pH of 11-13 measured at 25±0.5°C. The high-boiling solvent to be used here has a boiling point of 200°C and can be used in a combination of 2 or more and may be added into any of the photographic layers, and it is used in an amount of ≥20mg/m2, when it is used alone, and it is especially effective to use it in an amount of ≥15mg/m2, when an oil-soluble fluorescent whitening agent is dissolved in the high-boiling solvent and added into the photosensitive material as an emulsion.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
