PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply realize an unequal interval arrangement of an optical wavelength economically with respect to the wavelength multiplex transmitter and the wavelength multiplex optical transmission/reception system adopting the wavelength multiplex transmitter. ;SOLUTION: The transmitter is provided with an optical transmission section 1 that provides an output of optical signals where interval of respective wavelength bands is unequal to each other, with a wave synthesizer 2 having an equal interval wavelength light synthesis characteristic by which optical signals whose wavelength intervals are equal to each other, and the synthesizer 2 synthesizes a plurality of optical signals from the optical transmission section 1 by giving a plurality of the optical signals to the synthesizer 2 to provide an output.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
