PRODUCTION OF LITHIUM COBALTATE, LITHIUM NICKELATE OR LITHIUM MANGANATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing respective highly uniform lithium cobaltate, lithium nickelate and lithium manganate powder at low cost. SOLUTION: An electrolysis is conducted using a metal selected from the group consisting of cobalt, nickel and manganese as the anode and an aqueous solution of a lithium salt as the electrolyte to effect electrodeposition of the oxide, hydroxide or oxyhydroxide of the selected metal, or multiple oxide thereof. Thereafter, if needed, the lithium level of the aqueous solution of the lithium salt is adjusted, and then at least one kind of the electrodeposition product selected from the above-mentioned metal oxide, hydroxide, oxyhydroxide or multiple oxide thereof, together with the above-mentioned aqueous solution of the lithium salt, is preferably spray-dried and then baked and ground.
