PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microorganism belonging to genus Acinetobacter capable of producing protein such as an enzyme useful as a marker of diabetes by not utilizing glucose as a carbon source but utilizing anhydroglucitol (derivative) as the carbon source. ;SOLUTION: This microorganism does not utilize glucose as a carbon source but utilizes 1,5-anhydro-D-glucitol (1,5-AG) and its derivative as the carbon source. The microorganism is Acinetobacter sp. 1203-7-2 (FERM P-15893) and its mycological properties, e.g. morphological properties are followings; shape and size of a cell: bacillus; existence of polymorphism of a cell: none; existence of motility: none; existence of spore: none; Gram staining property: negative.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
