PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer-grafted carbon black having an improved dispersibility and useful as an ink, a toner, a magnetic recording material, a coating material, a coloring material, etc., by performing a condensation reaction of a carbon black having a specific quinone quantity with a polymer having an amino group. ;SOLUTION: This polymer-grafted carbon black is obtained by mixing and stirring a carbon black having ≥0.1m equiv./g quinone quantity with a polymer having 300-50,000 molecular weight and comprising a polyoxyalkylene resin, a polysiloxane resin, a polyurethane resin, polyallyl resin, etc., having a primary or secondary amino group in toluene, reacting the mixed and stirred materials at 70°C for 20hr while stirring, drying the reacted product by distilling off the toluene of a solvent and further extracting the dried product by a Soxhlet extractor by using tetrahydrofuran as a solvent for 20hr to remove the unreacted polymer.
