SLAMMING-PROOF LATCHING DEVICE FOR ATTACHMENT OF MODULAR COMPONENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slamming-proof latching device by which a modular housing can be detachably attached to the bay of a frame with a predetermined width. ;SOLUTION: A module housing 12 has a guide pin 44 which protrudes from the housing on its front part. A latching device has a latch main part 46 by which the rear part of the module housing can be inserted/removed into/from a bay and a 1st channel which receives and retains with the guide pin when the latch main part is at a 1st position. The channel has a closed end which retains with the pin so as to prevent the module housing from being inserted too deep over the predetermined intermediate position of the bay. The latch main part has a 2nd channel which crosses the 1st channel and has a rounded protrusion between the 1st and 2nd channels. The module can not be inserted deeper even if the protrusion is pushed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
