PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Cr-Mn austenitic steel excellent in corrosion resistance, strength, and radiation exposure damage resistance and its production and also to provide a nuclear reactor, a nuclear fusion reactor, and their component parts, by uniformly refining crystalline grain size into superfine state. SOLUTION: The Cr-Mn austenitic sintered steel with high corrosion resistance and high strength is a steel containing, by weight, =0.1% C, =1% Si, =0.4% N, 9-25% of (Mn+Ni) under the condition that Mn is 2 to 15%, and 14-20% Cr and having =1m average crystalline grain size and =90vol.% of austenitic phase or a steel further containing, besides the above, at least one kind among =3% Mo, =1.0% Ti, =2.0% Zr, and =1.0% Nb and having the above characteristics. These steels are used for a structure in a nuclear reactor and a part, to be subjected to neutron irradiation and brought into contact with high temp. water, of a nuclear fusion furnace, etc.
