PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent for plant culture that prevents, as far as possible, a potted plant from drying-off caused by water shortage in its cultivation, prolongs the life of the patted plant, and saves labor for watering the potted plant. ;SOLUTION: This agent for plant growth regulation and life prolongation comprises 1-10wt.% of abscisic acid (including abscisates), 5-100wt.% of chitosan, and a natural polysaccharide (e.g. cellulose). The abscisic acid used for this agent is, for example, of (S)-2-cis,4-trans form, (S)-2-cis,4-trans form, or a racemic modification of (S)-2-trans and 4-trains forms or their optical isomer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
