PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a base fabric for a water barrier sheet method by spraying, having a water barrier having a reduced variation of hardening periods according to concentrations of a delayed solidifying penetrant and surrounding temperatures, generating no problem such as a dripping of the delayed solidifying penetrant when applying the one under a sever condition of a steep slope, etc., high in abilities to be easily penetrated by and hold the delayed solidifying penetrant and capable of imparting a sufficient water interception by even one application. SOLUTION: This base fabric for a water barrier sheet method by spraying is used for the method for forming a water barrier sheet by spraying a delayed solidifying penetrant consisting essentially of an anionic rubber asphalt emulsion including a metal oxide to penetrate into the base fabric. The base fabric is obtained by dipping the one into an aqueous solution of an ammonium salt containing 0.5-10wt.% active ingredient, drying and thereafter treating the resultant fabric with an aqueous solution of a multivalent metal salt containing 2-20wt.% active ingredient.
