PURPOSE:To manufacture precisely in a relatively short time a flexible tube of a flat, small-thickness and single-layer or multilayer structure which drives a cotter supporting a structure such as a blanket or a shield which is provided in a torus-shaped magnetic confinement type nuclear fusion reactor such as a tokamak type one. CONSTITUTION:A round tube formed of a material having a characteristic of superplasticity is inserted into a mold 3 of a required shape, the temperature of the round tube is raised to a temperature whereat the characteristic of superplasticity is revealed, and simultaneously an internal pressure is loaded on the aforesaid round tube so that the tube be brought into pressure contact with the inner surface of the aforesaid mold 3, whereby a flexible tube of a required shape is manufactured. By using a tube of a small-thickness and multilayer structure for the round tube, besides, the flexible tube of the small- thickness and multilayer structure is manufactured.
