RAISING OF SEEDLING FOR GRAFTING USE IN GRAFTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain uniform scion seedlings and stock seedlings with the height from the tray therefor to their crotyledons at their suitable grafting time falling within a specified range. SOLUTION: Scion seedlings and stock seedlings held in a tray are carried to the corresponding treatment sections, respectively, each of the seedlings is cut at a desired site below its cotyledon, and the scion cut off from each of the scion seedlings is grafted to a stock of each of the stock seedlings, cut and deprived of scion portion. In this case, sprouted seedlings as both the scion seedlings and stock seedlings are grown to a specified height in a germination house and then delivered so as to ensure the height from the tray to the root of the cotyledon of each of the seedlings at their suitable grafting time to be a specified level or higher.
