PURPOSE:To manufacture easily artificial wood in a state of material wood, an annual ring and a log, by a method wherein an annual ring platen whose surface is made into an annual ring pattern is attached temporarily to one end of the side of cylindrical artificial wood, molten resin is cast into a mold and released from a mold after cooling. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical mold is formed of a top and bottom forces 1, 2 and the sides 3, 3 to the inner surface of which a bark pattern is given and molten resin is made castable through a sprue 4 of a central part of the bottom force 2. An annual ring platen 5 is attached temporarily to one side of the forces so that the surface having an annual ring pattern may abut against the isnide of the force. The annual ring platen 5 is made into a circular form molded of olefin resin such as polyethylene or polypropylene and formed into a color corresponding to the xylem. A threaded nail or a both side adhesive tape is used for temporary attachment. Molten resin such as olefin resin to be discharged in large quantities as industrial wastes is cast into an assembled artificial wood mold through the sprue 4 and mold release is performed after cooling through which desired loglike artificial wood is obtained.
