PURPOSE: To obtain the position detecting/registering system of a moving terminal in a mobile object satellite communication system using a revolving satellite. ;CONSTITUTION: A land earth station 2 transmits an identification number or an identification symbol imparted in a through communicatable satellites 30 and 31. A moving terminal 1 encircled in an area 40 in which a communication can be executed to the satellite 30 receives the identification number of the identification symbol of the earth station 2 through the satellite 30. The moving terminal 1 transmits the received identification number of identification symbol to a land system, and the land system registers the land earth station 2 corresponding to the identification number or the identification symbol transmitted from the moving terminal 1, as a position of the moving terminal 1. Since the land system grasps positions of all the moving terminals being in a communicatable state, it will suffice that a call is executed only to the registered position at the time of connecting a call to the moving terminal.
