PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a pure-phase crystalline, micro- and mesoporous metallic silicate having high catalyst activities by carrying out the hydrothermal reaction using a pyrolytic metal-silicon mixed oxide as a source for silicon and a metal. SOLUTION: A pyrolytic metal-silicon-mixed oxide, preferably (SiO2 )1-x (TiO2 )x , (SiO2 )1-x (Al2 O3 )x , (SiO2 )1-x (B2 O3 )x , (SiO2 )1-x (V2 O5 )x or (SiO2 )1-x (ZrO2 )x [(x) is 0.0001-0.25] is used as a source for silicon and a metal and the hydrothermal reaction is carried out in the presence of a tetraalkylammonium hydroxide compound as a template compound at 0.05-2.0 molar ratio of OH- /SiO2 . The hydrothermal reaction is conducted at 1-200 molar ratio of the H2 O/SiO2 at 100-220 deg.C temperature in the case of producing a microporous metallic silicate and 25-200 deg.C temperature in the case of producing a mesoporous metallic silicate for 1-50hr. The template compound is removed by extraction or calcining at 300-1,000 deg.C.
