PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing 5-valent arsenic from an aq. solution containing arsenic and a method for efficiently producing calcium arsenate as an arsenate. ;SOLUTION: This recovering method of arsenic comprises adding copper and a copper oxide, or copper or copper oxide in the aq. solution containing arsenic and oxidizing arsenic ion. Further, calcium arsenate is obtained by leaching a sulfide containing arsenic, which is obtained by the recovery method, with an alkali, oxidizing it in the presence of copper and the copper oxide, or copper or the copper oxide with an oxidizing agent and treating with slaked lime.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
