Carrier roller abnormality detecting device of belt conveyor

PURPOSE: To detect an abnormality of a carrier roller speedily and easily without requiring manpower by installing a microphone in a pipe provided along a carrying direction of a belt conveyor at a side part of it, and collecting running sound of the carrier roller. ;CONSTITUTION: A long pipe 8 is provided along the length of a frame 2 at one side part of the frame 2 through a support metal 7, and a microphone 9 is installed on this pipe 8. Running sound of plural carrier rollers 5 is taken into the pipe 8 installed on a side surface of a belt conveyor 1 to be transmitted through air in the pipe 8 to the microphone 9. The carrier roller running sound collected to the microphone 9 is converted into an electric signal to be recorded in a recorder through an amplifier. The carrier roller 5 which is abnormal because of abrasion or breakage generates large noise which is clearly different from the normal running sound. By detecting the running sound of this carrier roller 5, therefore, the abnormal noise of the carrier roller 5 can be detected effectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
