PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a tungsten halogen lamp preventing a position of a filament provided on a mount during sealing from being shifted relative to a center axis of an envelope. ;SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, a mount M having a supported part m and a filament 6 is inserted into an envelope 1 having an envelope main body 1H and extension part 1F on the side part thereof, the supported part m of the mount M is arranged in the extension part 1F of the envelope 1, after which part or whole of the extension part 1F of the envelope 1 is sealed by heating and softening it, a sealing part 13 is formed at part or whole of the extension part 1F, and part of the mount M is embedded in the sealing part 13. In at least one part of a corresponding position between the supported part m of the mount M and the supported part m of the extension part 1F, a clearance between an inner diameter of the extension part in the corresponding position of the extension part 1F of the envelope 1 and the supported part m is characterized to be smaller than an outer diameter W of the filament 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
