PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscosity-measuring apparatus which can measure a viscosity of a liquid in a simple constitution and output measurement results as electric signals. ;SOLUTION: A part of a torsionally deformable rod body 1 is dipped in a liquid A to be measured and rotated by a motor 2. Many reflecting plates 4 are arranged via an equal distance at circumferential faces of a pair of circular plates 31, 32 rotated integrally with the rod body 1. Reflected lights at reflecting plates 4 of a laser light projected to the circumferential faces of the circular plates 31, 32 from projecting parts 51, 52 are respectively received at photodetecting parts 61, 62. When the rod body 1 is rotated at a constant speed by the motor 2, a shearing force (torque) due to a viscous resistance of the liquid A is generated, twisting the rod body 1 in a direction of a center axis Z. A logical OR of pulse signals output from the photodetecting parts 61, 62 is obtained at a gate part 7. Since a pulse width of a signal output from the gate part 7 is proportional to a torsion angle θ, a viscosity of the liquid A is thus measured.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
