PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparing a printed page of at least five colors using at least five monochromatic color screen decomposed films along with an at least five-color printer. ;SOLUTION: A digital image formed of three primary colors, scanned by a scanner is prepared. The digital image is inputted as a tricolor digital input image signal to a digital color decomposing computer independent of the scanner. In the computer, at least five unscreened monochromatic continuous gradation image decomposed plates are prepared in the form of a computer file. The computer file is inputted to a raster image processor(RIP), where at least five monochromatic screened color decomposed plates are prepared in the form of electric signals. The electric signals are inputted to a film recorder, and at least five monochromatic screened color decomposed plate films are prepared and sent to an at least five-color printer so as to prepare a printed page of at least five colors.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
