The intermediate medium has single-colored printing units (1a-1e) or print heads that are provided to generate a multi-color print image on an intermediate carrier. The multi-color print image is transferred from the intermediate carrier to a print material. The intermediate carrier is made of one or more plates (11a-11d) made of metal, plastic or composite materials. The plates are coated with paint or ink or re-emitting material such as rubber, silicone rubber and Teflon (RTM: PTFE). The plates are provided with metallic or metal-oxide surfaces. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a printing device; and (2) an indirect printing method.
