PURPOSE: To add a viscous damping device to a standard type torsion damping device by a simple connecting means by providing the viscous damping device in which an interconnecting means between one of members of a case and a guide ring or between the other case member of the case and a damping plate are laid out. CONSTITUTION: A viscous damping device 3 has a shape of a cassette and is arranged on the outside of a region specified by guide rings 6, 7, and viscous damping work of the damping device 3 is all carried out in a case constituted of coaxially set case members 21, 22. A sub assembly constituted of the guide rings 6, 7, a hub 4 and a damping plate 13 is installed on a case 20 and is rotated with the case 20 after an initial clearance is made zero through interconnecting devices 8, 30, 31. The member 21 is fixed on a spacer 8 with male screws, ring plates 24, 25 and the guide rings 6, 7 are respectively fixed with nuts, the member 22 is connected to the damping plate 13 by a bearing 15, and the bearing 15 is installed on the hub 4. A tooth 30 is inserted into a slot 31 for connection.
