PURPOSE:To facilitate the storage into a winch drum and exhibit the reducing effect of water flow resistance by a fairing by mutually connecting commutators through a connecting plate in such a manner as to be capable of following the curve of a cable, and making the whole specific gravity of a pair of fairings smaller than the specific gravity of sea water. CONSTITUTION:A pair of fairings F mounted to reduce the water flow resistance of an underwater towing cable C consist of a commutator 1, a cable cover 2, and a connecting plate 3. The commutator 1 is formed of a material having a specific gravity lighter than sea water, and the cable cover 2 is provided on the head part of the commutator 1 to form the whole body into a streamline shape section. The plurality of commutators 1 are mutually connected through the connecting plate 3 in such a manner as to be capable of following a curve formed by the towing cable C, and the pair of fairings F are formed in such a manner that the whole specific gravity is smaller than the specific gravity of the sea water.
