PURPOSE: To effectively and economically produce a gloss modifier useful for adjusting the surface gloss of a PVC resin, etc., by preparing a specific core/ shell-structured latex through two steps of emulsion polymn. and subjecting the latex to coagulation and interparticle crosslinking. ;CONSTITUTION: This gloss modifier is prepd. through the following steps: the step (A) of obtaining a crosslinked core latex by subjecting a mixture contg. an arom. vinyl monomer, an acrylic monomer, a grafting agent, a cyanide, and a crosslinker to emulsion polymn.; the step (B) of obtaining a core/shell- structured polymer latex by subjecting a mixture of the core latex with an acylic monomer, an interparticle crosslinking agent, an arom. vinyl monomer, and a cyanide to graft emulsion polymn.; and the step (C) of subjecting the polymer latex to coagulation in the presence of an acid and simultaneously to interparticle crosslinking.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
