PURPOSE:To improve chemical stability, electron conductivity and air tightness by defatting a precursor of calcium doped lanthanum chromite powder and then burning the defatted precursor plural times. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of untreated material of calcium doped lanthanum chromite powder obtained from raw materials of La(NO3)3, Ca(NO3)2, Cr(NO3)3, etc., by powder mixing method, sol-gel method and coprecipitation method and having a molar ratio of La:Ca:Cr of (1-x):(x+y):(1-y) and expressed by the formulas 0x=0.4, 0y=0.05 and y=x is dried and defatted at =500 deg.C and then reacted at raising rate slower than =70 deg.C/hr at 900-1100 deg.C for =5hr and the above-mentioned reaction is repeated twice or more times.
