COLOR REPRODUCTION EVALUATION METHOD FOR COLOR SENSOR, ITS DEVICE, DESIGN METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COLOR SENSOR SENSITIVITY AND COLOR IMAGE INPUT METHOD AND SYSTEM
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the design method and device for an optimum sensor sensitivity and to provide the color image input system with excellent color reproduction by correctly evaluating the color reproducibility of a color sensor set even when an input object spectral characteristic is limited. SOLUTION: A 1st orthogonal base calculation means 1 calculates a regular orthogonal base of a visual sense partial space from an isochromatic function set, a 2nd orthogonal base calculation section 2 calculates a regular orthogonal base of a visual sense partial space from a spectral sensitivity of a sensor set, and a color distribution calculation means 4 calculates an object color distribution from a spectral characteristic database 3. A quality coefficient calculation means 5 and a decoding coefficient calculation means 6 respectively calculate an expanded quality coefficient qe from the two sets of the regular orthogonal bases and a color distribution decoding coefficient qd from the 2nd regular orthogonal base and the object color distribution. A color reproduction coefficient calculation means 7 calculates a color reproduction coefficient Q based on the coefficients qe, qd. Even when the spectral characteristic of the input object is limited, the color reproduction of the sensor set is correctly evaluated by the coefficient Q.
