摘要

PURPOSE: To perform ultrasonic flaw detection continuously while preventing erroneous detection or fracture of flaw detection apparatus due to up/down motion of a welded H-steel. ;CONSTITUTION: A focus type probe 2A is secured in the center of the flange 1F of a welded H-steel 1 while being spaced apart therefrom. The probe 2A projects ultrasonic beam normally to the flange through a propagation medium, i.e., water, thus performing ultrasonic flaw detection continuously. A web restriction roller 6 for regulating the path line of the welded H-steel while abutting on the web 1W of the welded H-steel on the both sides thereof is also provided. The probe 2A is moved to withdraw from the outer face of the flange 1F only when the distance therebetween deviates from an allowable range. The probe 2A is returned to the initial position when the distance between the probe 2A and the outer face of the flange 1F is reset within the allowable range.
