PURPOSE: To easily set the rotating speed of a spindle by securing a drive gear to a stationary shaft or rotating the drive gear at a rotating speed differing from that of a rotor. CONSTITUTION: For a PP capper, first and second rotors 17, 18 are secured to stationary shaft 1 by respective first and second joint pins 19, 20. An epicyclic gear 16 and a drive gear 14 also are secured to the stationary shaft 1. With a rotor 3 driven, a pinion 13 of a spindle 5 engaged with a drive gear 14 rotates on its own axis while revolving around the drive gear 14. For a screw capper, the second joint pin 20 is pulled out while the first joint pin 19 stands, and the rotor 3 and the rotor 18 are coupled integrally. With rotor 3 driven, the second rotor 18 and the epicyclic gear 16 revolve. Because the first rotor 17 is secured to a stationary shaft 3, the epicyclic gear 16 rotates on its own axis with a gear 17 a while revolving around the first rotor 17 to drive the drive gear 14 in reverse to the rotation of the rotor 3. Because the pinion 13 of the spindle 5 is driven in normal rotation around the drive gear 4 reversely rotating, the spindle 5 rotates at a high speed.
