PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the moldability, the mold releasing ability, and the transportability of a box culvert, by using a flexible coupling member without dividing the box culvert into two segments. SOLUTION: A box culvert is made of precast concrete formed into a cylindrical shape for building an underground structure such as a culvert or an under path, and a flexible coupling member 4 is embedded in the annular cross-section of the box culvert. Annular cut-outs 2, 3 are formed in one and/or both inner and outer surfaces of the box culvert substantially along the center line of the flexible coupling member 4. Upon unequal sinking, stress is concentrated to the cut-outs 2, 3 so that the culvert box is broken. With this arrangement, an integrally molded article including the flexible member coupling member 4 embedded therein can be molded, and further, the moldability, storage ability and transportability thereof are excellent.
