A NEW MEANS OF SAVING LIFE WITH A LOCATION FACILITY

A new means of saving life with a location facility that consists of a life jacket with a special place for a transmitter and an aerial and a collar which has a switch to operate the transmitter. The transmitter is waterproof and is mounted in a case at a specific point on the life jacket and, when activated by the switch located on the collar, transmits an acoustic signal at a certain wavelength on a certain beam. The advantage of this invention is that it provides the facility to locate those shipwrecked at long range during the night or when the prevailing visibility is poor or the sea rough using radio direction finding. The invention is also waterproof, small in size, light and easy to use.
