PROCESS FOR PRODUCING RAW MATERIAL OF CELLULOSE FROM BROOMCORN AND SUDAN GRASS

摘要

A raw material for prodn. of cellulose is based on sorghum (SORGHUM) and sudan-grass (SORGHUM VULVARE SUDANESE) varieties. The plant material is cut to lengths less than 50 cm. Air is expelled from the material by compacting it, to establish anaerobic conditions, and preserved to avoid rot-fermentation processes. The prepd. material is subjected to acid pref. lactic acid fermentation, and by setting the pH to required acid or alkaline values using acidic or alkaline cpds. as for silage, e.g.: pref. organic or inorganic acids, acid-salts or their mixts.; organic or inorganic bases or basic salts. pH setting cpds. are added as aq. solns.
