A liquid ejecting head comprises a flexible member which is disposed to face a bubble generation region in such a manner that the free end and supporting end of the flexible member are on the downstream and upstream sides, respectively, relative to the liquid flow direction, wherein as the pressure from the bubble generation caused in the bubble generation region displaces the free end of the flexible member, the displaced free end guides the pressure toward the ejection outlet side. The thickness of the free end of the flexible member is less than that of the supporting end of the flexible member is less than that of the supporting end of the flexible member.
