摘要
The invention refers to a variety of Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) called Venus, designed to be cultivated in all areas in the country fit for its cultivation, for fresh or preserved animal fodder. It is a tetraploid variety obtained from 6 clones whose combinative capacity was subjected to the polycross test. The plants are 90 to 102 cm high when coming into ear, the shoots have a rich foliage, the bush is loose, the leaf is dark green, 18-25 cm long and 5-8 mm thick, the inflorescence is a long ear, with numerous spicules containing 8-20 flowers. The mass of 1000 grains averages between 3.5 and 4.1 g. The "Venus" variety has high fodder productivity, averaging at 12.5 tons per hectare at the first two harvests, or 12000 nutrition units per hectare, or 15.0-22.0 tons per hectare dry substance at 3-5 harvests, exploited throughout the whole vegetation period. The plant has a 70.0 percent coefficient of digestibility, a net energy of 1350 kcal and 0.96 oats nutrition units. Grain productivity averages at 1800-2000 kg per hectare.
