At the present state of knowledge, it is not possible to mark a fabric in a sharp and through manner in such a way that the result is equally valid on front and rear. Decolouring without smudging is obtained using special dies and counter-dies, applied during the acid etching phase using primary non-toxic chemicals (sodium hypochlorite at various concentrations). The work cycle concludes with a neutralisation phase. The procedure has been conceived and applied principally on cotton cloth of the denim type to obtain decorations, patterns and trade marks without having recourse to stitched, glued or riveted labels on the garment, or by superimposed silk-screen printing or colouring. The through marking of the cloth by decolouring renders the finished garment inimitable and therefore counterfeit free. IMAGE
