In a method for applying a winding on a multi-limbed core, the winding consists of several partial windings (11 to 16), least one of which a single winding (11, 13-16) is that a single one of the legs (2, 3, 4) surrounding, and another a comprehensive winding (12) surrounding a leg assembly (5) comprising a plurality of legs (2, 3, 4) of the core, it is proposed that first the single winding (s) (11, 13-16) on the (the) individual legs (is wound n) (2, 3, 4) (to be), that then the leg assembly (5) by connecting the associated leg (2, 3, 4 together) and wrapped is and that, finally, possibly provided not for leg assembly (5) belonging wound or unwound legs are attached and fixed (1) or more limbs groups.
