MODIFIED POLYOLEFIN FILM WITH STABLE TWIST RETENTION, DEAD FOLD PROPERTIES AND BARRIER CHARACTERISTICS

The present invention is directed to modifiedpolyolefin films with stable twist retention and dead foldproperties to be employed in wrapping in general, andparticularly in wrapping small items. The films produced bythe present invention exhibit improved moisture vaporbarrier and oxygen barrier properties. The inventive filmsare obtained by extrusion and stretching of a ternarymixture comprising (1) isotactic polypropylene; (2) highdensity polyethylene; and (3) a glassy amorphous lowmolecular weight resin. Multilayer films are also provided.
