The invention relates to an insulation blanket comprising a substantially flat carrier (1) manufactured from flexible material and a strip of mineral wool (5) fixed to the carrier (1), wherein the carrier (1) extends on either side of the strip of mineral wool (5) and wherein the laterally extending side parts (6) of the carrier (1) are reinforced over at least a part of their surface, wherein the side parts (6) are reinforced with flexible reinforcing wires (7) extending in lengthwise direction of the blanket. According to another preferred embodiment the insulation blanket is provided with a layer which extends over the strip of mineral wool (5) and which also extends over the reinforcing wires (7) and is connected by the adhesive layer (4) to the carrier (1).
