Ecological method for determining the protection level required for electrical circuits in devices and appliances of various installations against the effect ofexternal electromagnetical fields

The inventive method consists in determining the current flowing through an electrical circuit element to be tested, for comparison with the permissible value of said element. The circuit is stimulated by means of a low level source transmitting a sinusoidal signal having the same frequency as the predetermined effect of the electromagnetic field. The electromagnetic field radiated towards free space is measured by means of standard measuring instruments; said field is compared with the maximum value of the predetermined electromagnetic field; thereafter, the protection level required for the circuit element is calculated. In order to electrically isolate from the measurement equipment the product to be tested, the circuit is stimulated via an optical cable.
