A process is disclosed for preparing foodstuffs for freezing, thawing and/or cooking purposes. In order to provide a process for preparing foodstuffs, corresponding foodstuffs and devices for their production and processing which enable foodstuffs to be cooked, or frozen and thawed in an energy-saving, fast and uniform manner, the disclosed process consists of cutting, pressing, extruding or shaping by any other process the foodstuff to give it a triangular cross-section. The disclosed foodstuff itself has a triangular cross-section.
