Production process for cast light-metal components, especially cast light-metal wheels for motor vehicles

In the process, the gravity mould-casting process employed in mass production, using a near-eutectic refined GK-AlSill/Sr-Kf alloy with 0.05 to 0.1 % by weight of a magnesium fraction and without further significant hardenable constituents, by quenching the components from a temperature of 350 to 475 DEG C directly on removal from the casting mould in water of at most 50 DEG C is modified and a considerable increase in the fatigue strength under reversed bending stresses in central regions and in the impact strength in edge regions of the components is thereby achieved.
