Process for the fabrication of a pattern-free non woven textile lap (50) by means of pressure water jets, wherein a base sheet (10) comprised of elementary fibers is fed on a perforated rotary drum (20) inside which is applied a partial vacuum, said drum (20) presenting a plurality of micro-orifices on its surface; then, a ramp of high pressure water jets (41, 42, 43) is directed onto said rotary drum (20) carrying said lap (10), the process being characterized in that the micro-orifices (21) of the rotary drum are distributed randomly. The invention also relates to a plant for implementing such process.
