In conventional milking, the milking pipeline (2) is connected to the milk pipeline (4) via a switching device (3), the feed line (5) to the separating container (6) being blocked. The yield of a particular cow then flows via the milk pipeline (4) into a milk container (not shown). In order to separate the yield of a particular cow, the milking pipeline (2) is connected to the feed line (5) via the switching device (3) and the yield of the particular cow now flows into the separating container (6) on which the vacuum of the milk pipeline (4) acts via the connection line (9). In order to discharge the yield of the particular cow, the feed pump (11) is switched on, overcomes the vacuum in the separating container (6), and the delivery flow thereof automatically opens the non-return valve (12).
