Method for renovating of buried, liquid carrying pipelines by injection of gelforming water glass solutions

A method of sealing damaged sites in pipes involves injecting a gel-forming fluid from the pipe inner space into the damaged region. The damaged pipe section is bound in both directions by one or two packers against the channel wall. The gelled fluid is pressed into the pipe section closed by the packers. A water glass solution is used as the gel-forming fluid which itself is mixed in the packer, before injecting into the packer or before exiting the packer, with esters or with an aqueous hardener solution containing alkali metal aluminate, salts of alkaline earth metal cations, acidic water soluble salts, glyoxal, organic acids or their compounds.
