The present invention describes the synthesis and use of polymeric carriers loaded with nucleic acid building blocks containing labeled groups or precursors thereof. Polymer carriers loaded in this manner are assemblies of oligonucleotides that can be used as primers for template-dependent enzymatic nucleic acid synthesis, such as in sequencing assays according to Sanger and its partners or in polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It acts as a solid or liquid phase.
