There is provided a thermally crosslinkable organic nonlinear optically active polymer obtained by introducing a crosslinking agent of the following formula (2) into a side chain in one molecule. The heat-crosslinkable organic non-linear optically active polymer thus obtained is excellent in various properties such as electro-optical coefficient, solubility in an organic solvent, processability, and is also stable to heat.;(2)
