Disclosed is a reinforcement structure for an automobile side sill to absorb effectively the impact energy under side collision utilizing an additional reinforcement plate within the side sill. Bent inner panel(11) and outer panel(12) are connected to form a closed cross section; the outer surface of the inner panel(11) is connected to floor panel(20); one end of a reinforcement plate(15) is fixed to side sill reinforcement plate(13) and the other end of reinforcement plate(15) is assembled between the inner panel(11) and outer panel(12). Under collision, the outer panel(12) first absorbs and distributes the impact energy and secondly the side sill reinforcement plate(13) absorbs and distributes the impact load to relieve the inward impact. The invention increases car safety under side collision.
