The present invention relates to a method for producing a presaturated fibrous product (prepreg) with a polymer, the method optionally comprising: a) at least one polymer and an agent having the ability to initiate polymerization of said polymer. Coating the fibers with powders. b) adding a solvent that possesses the ability to dissolve the polymer in the composition obtained in step a) but not the ability to initiate the polymerisation of the polymer, and c) evaporating the solvent. Optionally, the polymer (optionally including the initiator) is first dissolved in a solvent and then the fiber is contacted with the resulting solution and the solvent is evaporated. The surface of the fiber is preferably treated to promote bonding of the polymer to the fiber, after which the surface treated fiber is coated with a polymer powder. The present invention also relates to new prepregs, methods for producing fiber reinforced composites based on the use of the prepregs, new composites and their uses.
